Goofs

As a result of the film enduring multiple rounds of reshoots, hairstyles frequently change throughout the film, most notably on Sara Moyer.

During the flashback of Michael switching places with the officer, Michael is clearly wearing the mask he wears for the rest of Resurrection rather than one of the masks he wore in Halloween H20.

When Bill is killed by Michael Myers, it’s established that his head camera is broken and no longer works. However, it’s shown to still be working when Sara climbs over his body to get to the attic.

Trivia

The producers originally considered returning to the film’s anthology roots like Season of the Witch had tried to do. However, after polling the fans at the official website, it was made clear they wanted Michael to return.

Jamie Lee Curtis was contractually obligated to return for a fifteen-second cameo. She agreed to extend her role only if they killed her character off so she wouldn’t have to appear in the series again.

Jamie Lee Curtis has gone on record as saying this is her least favourite of the Halloween films, even referring to as an “absolute joke” in certain interviews.

Alternate Versions

Owing to the different rounds of reshoots that Resurrection went under, there are two known workprints of the film. The first one features no title card and runs significantly longer than the film, featuring extended scenes, a radically different ending and a temporary music score. The second one, which is known as The Homecoming Workprint owing to the alternate title card, is closer to the film’s theatrical cut, with its main changes just being the film’s opening scene and ending. In addition, a network television cut of the film was created for its broadcast on AMC sometime between 2004-2006.
