Betamax

The Revenge of Michael Myers released a Betamax release in August 1990 courtesy of CBS/Fox. It would ultimately become the final film in the franchise to get a release under this format.

Laserdisc

The Revenge of Michael Myers received two laserdisc releases in 1990 – one in the United States, and the other in Germany. Both releases presented the film in a pan & scan format with no special features.

VHS

The Revenge of Michael Myers received its first VHS release in August 1990, courtesy of CBS/Fox. When Anchor Bay received distribution rights for the original in 1998, it also received the rights for Return and Revenge.

DVD

The Revenge of Michael Myers received its first DVD release on October 9, 2001. The film was presented in an anamorphic widescreen transfer, alongside the “Inside Halloween 5” featurette, an introduction by Danielle Harris & Ellie Cornell, and the film’s theatrical trailer.

That same DVD was released in a collectible tin, which featured replications of publicity stills and a mini-poster for the film.

On June 25, 2006, the film received a “DiviMax” release to tie in with the DVD release of the 25 Years of Terror documentary. The film was given a new HD transfer (which later served as the basis for the film’s 2012 Blu-Ray release), and included new commentary tracks and behind the scenes footage on top of carrying over the prior special features.

Blu-Ray

August 21, 2012 saw the first Blu-Ray release of the film. It featured the transfer used for the 2006 DiviMax release. Compared to Return’s release, nearly everything from the DVD was brought over onto the Blu-Ray, with only Inside Halloween 5 being left off the release.

This same disc was included in the 2014 complete collection Blu-Ray set, though with new artwork printed on it. Unlike the disc for Return, this was the exact same disc as before. The special features created for it were instead included on the deluxe edition’s bonus disc.
